Successful Litter Pick Morning

Thanks to all those who attended the Community Litter Pick on March 16th. 68 people of all ages helped to fill over 25 black bags with litter picked from all over the village. Multiple car parts and other debris were retrieved from the ditches on Fineacre Lane, Freeboard Lane and Rugby Lane and over 65 bacon batches were served from the Scout Hut in Plott Lane Park to those who had braved the windy weather all morning.

Special thanks to Nicki Haywood for arranging the event, and co-ordinating the volunteers on the day with Paul Gordon. Also thanks to Tim Bench for supplying the black bags and disposable gloves. Finally to Fiona Haden, Helen Stewart and Vicki Ledger for their help in preparing and cooking the bacon batches and to the Scouts for allowing the use of their facilities.
