Stretton Charities

Each year the Stretton Charities have funds available to help villagers in need, and wish to ensure that individuals feel free to enquire in confidence about the possibility of financial assistance.

Following a revision of the Stretton Charities approved by the Charity Commission, the Trustees are able to award small grants to villagers in the following categories:

  • young people up to age 25 in further education or vocational training who need assistance to purchase books, equipment, tools, etc, In order to meet the criteria of the Charity Commission, it is required that the applicant must have attended the local school.
  • people of any age who need help following illness, bereavement, redundancy or any other misfortune which has affected their financial position
  • people with a disability who require assistance to pay for services to support them eg payment of a gardener for essential maintenance
  • senior citizens who are in need for whatever reason, eg, fuel bills

If you fall into one of the above categories or know someone who does, please contact for further details.
